A five-part program series entitled Traces of Cuba will kick off with a special exhibit opening at the Ybor City Museum State Park on Thursday, October 20, from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. The celebration of Tampa’s Cuban roots includes light refreshments, a live performance by a Cuban band, and tours led by curator, Elizabeth C. McCoy. The Traces of Cuba exhibit depicts how Tampa’s Cuban-American population helped establish the cigar industry, supported José Martí in his quest to liberate Cuba, and introduced us to food, music, architecture, baseball and many other traditions.
